Anxiety, eco-anxiety, life-change/transitions, loss/bereavement, relationship/family issues, addiction, trauma, work-related stress, anger, sadness, self-esteem, lack of direction, feeling stuck, personal and professional development.
People seek therapy at different points in their lives and for many unique reasons. You may be feeling stressed, overwhelmed, bored, anxious, angry, sad or stuck. You may be struggling with relationships or family dynamics – old or new. Perhaps you are facing challenging realities outside of your control or coping with loss or bereavement. It can be physical or mental health issues that bring you to therapy.
Counselling and psychotherapy is effective in supporting you if you wish to work through challenging or confusing experiences in your life, or make sense of your own behaviour patterns and gain more clarity and new perspectives around how you wish to respond in your life going forwards.
I have a Masters of Science in Psychotherapy from Brighton University and I work with several models of humanistic therapy, including person-centered, existential, phenomenological, gestalt and transactional analysis. These overlap and are just theories, which come secondary to my priority of building an honest and genuine connection together, where you will hopefully feel comfortable to talk with me. I aim to ensure that you feel safe to explore anything you wish. I am here to really listen to you, in confidence and with complete acceptance, and work together with you to understand where you are and what you need.
I offer short-term, goal-orientated counselling to work through current challenges you are facing. I also offer longer term psychotherapy for a deeper exploration of your personal patterns, in terms of how you might be relating to yourself, others and the world. You decide how long you wish to continue therapy for, and this is something we will review regularly together.
Humanistic Therapy is based on a position that we are all already ‘whole’ and essentially ‘OK’, although we may not always feel this way. Therapy can help heighten awareness of how our experiences in life and relationships, up until now, may still present in the here and now – and how these experiences may be affecting our current thoughts, feelings, actions and health, in ways that may not be best serving us anymore.
‘Much of what we call personality is not a fixed set of traits, only coping mechanisms a person acquired in childhood’ – Dr Gabor Mate
Therapy is a space in which you might make sense of your experiences and release what is no longer helpful to you. It is a chance to consider what is important to you and how you want to be, within your current circumstances. It is an opportunity to take responsibility and be intentional based what matters to you. It offers an opportunity to better understand and integrate your true nature and I would be privileged to accompany you on this part of your journey. I work with the individual and with the many intertwining issues that may make up your unique experience.
I am always learning and developing my understanding and continuous professional development regarding psychotherapy, personal development and general well-being. I am particularly interested in human relationships, attachment, family dynamics, parenting, anxiety, existential concerns, life transitions, loss and bereavement, work-related stress, anger, sadness, self-esteem, abandonment fear, limerence, lack of direction, neurodiversity, eco-anxiety, non-dualism, Eastern philosophies, nutrition, nature and holistic health.
Areas of additional training include – CBT, Focusing, Eco-Psychology, Domestic Abuse, Addiction with Gabor Mate, Anger Management, Trauma, Enneagram Personality Types, Couples, Systemic Therapy and Polyvagal Theory.
In my previous professional roles, I have been a project manager for an global placements provider, working with international teams, particularly across Asia. I have also lived and worked in Japan. Personally, I really enjoy watching films, writing, reading, swimming, sauna, volleyball and quality time with loved ones.
I work with individual adults, aged 18+, on a short or long-term basis.
Fees are £65 per 50-minute session, including the initial consultation. I do offer some concessionary spaces for students and low-income/retired clients, please enquire for availability.

PGDip Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling. Transactional Analysis. Working with Children and Young People. EMDR. European Academy. MBACP Accredited.
Accepts BUPA Insurance.
I like to work with a variety of presenting issues, however, I am often asked to work with ADHD, anxiety and depression, family issues, fertility, couples, anger management, menopause and career change. EMDR treatment, especially helpful in exploring trauma related symptoms.
I believe that by exploring what it is we are feeling and experiencing in our lives, in a safe, non judgemental space, can help us to find a way through what might feel like chaos, anxiety or overwhelm. A greater awareness of ‘self’ through working together with a therapist, may help us to feel empowered and confident to make changes for good. As a therapist, I believe I work with integrity, honesty and at times courage and I enjoy being compassionately curious about everyone I meet.
My clients say they find it easy to feel trust and safety within the therapeutic relationship, confidentiality being of utmost importance. They experience me as both ‘deeply empathetic’ and also ‘honest and courageous’ in my approach. I enjoy working creatively where it may help the client, for example using sandtray, art or nature. I’m also trained in techniques of Focussing and Gestalt. I am accredited with the BACP and a BUPA registered practitioner.
Trained with and a member of the EMDR European Academy, EMDR treatment, especially helpful in exploring trauma related symptoms.

Whatever your reason for starting therapy, whether you are feeling anxious or depressed, dealing with a major life event(s), seeking clarity, or simply wanting to know yourself better, I’m here to walk alongside you and listen.
Therapy is a collaborative journey. I offer a safe, judgment-free space where you can be truly seen and heard. My approach draws on humanistic principles that emphasise empathy, presence, and respect for your unique life experience. I am committed to seeing you as a whole person, not as a set of symptoms or a
label.
We'll discuss the issues that are important to you at a pace you feel comfortable with. Therapy allows you to explore who you are at your core, reflect on how your experiences in life shape you in the here and now, also how you relate to the world. Deeper self-awareness will help you make meaningful, authentic choices about how to live, allowing you to achieve your true potential. Choosing how to live can be empowering, even in dark times.
You may be feeling anxious about starting therapy. This was my experience. I understand it can take real courage to take the first step. Therapy can be difficult and challenging but it can also be transformative. In my case it led me to train as a therapist.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the University of Brighton. I have wide experience gained in my private practice at the Wilbury Clinic, also through my work as a therapist for Macmillan Cancer Support and Martlets Hospice in Brighton. Some of the areas I work with include anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, neurodiversity, family and relationship problems, men’s issues, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, cancer and chronic illness, end-of-life, bereavement and loss. I'm interested in how stress in the workplace impacts our emotional and physical well-being. I see adult clients of all genders, sexualities, ages and ethnicities. I support equality, diversity and social justice in my practice.
I’m happy to work face to face, online or over the telephone. I offer ‘walking talking’ therapy outside. I work with clients on a short or long term basis. I am happy to answer any initial questions you might have in a free 15 minute introductory call. Our 1st session together is offered at the reduced fee of £30 and is an opportunity for you to see what it might be like working with me.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their professional code of ethics and conduct. I am also registered with the ICO. I'm DBS checked and hold professional indemnity insurance. I complete regular professional training to maintain and develop my knowledge.
PGDip Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling. OU Trauma-Informed Counselling. MBACP
I have additional specialist training in working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse and working with domestic abuse.
As a relational therapist, I believe in the potential for growth, healing, and self-acceptance that exists within each person. We all have the capacity to change and create new possibilities for ourselves, by connecting more fully with who we are in the present moment.
Drawing from Gestalt therapy and Somatic practices, I help you tune into the “here-and-now”, your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behaviors. By becoming more aware of these aspects of yourself, you can gain new insights into old patterns and internal conflicts. This awareness can help you release what no longer serves you and create space to live more fully in the present.
I’ve also had the privilege of working in the charity sector, where I’ve supported people navigating complex trauma, whether it’s childhood adversity (ACE’s), domestic or sexual abuse, or chronic pain. I bring an intersectional, neuro-affirming approach to therapy, recognising that your unique life experiences have shaped how you see and experience yourself. Being trauma-informed is essential to my work, and I am deeply committed to building a safe, trusting relationship with you, where you will feel seen and heard with empathy and compassion.
In addition to my therapy practice, I have many years of experience as an advanced myofascial release therapist, specialising in chronic pain and trauma, both physical and emotional. The body has a unique way of holding onto past experiences, and sometimes, it can leave us feeling stuck or disconnected. Myofascial release can help ease physical pain and tension, but it also supports to release unresolved emotions or memories that we hold onto even if we are not aware.
Together, we can help you move toward a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling, and authentic.
Dip Couns. BSc(Hons) Psychology. MBACP
Racial identity and cultural issues, bereavement and grief, LGBTQIA+ counselling. self-esteem, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts.
Hello and welcome.
Do you feel stuck, angry, depressed or anxious? Do you need help navigating events in your life – past or present? Sometimes life can feel like too much – whatever difficulties you’re facing, it doesn’t have to be on your own.
My name is Sara and I’m an integrative humanistic counsellor. I offer a space dedicated to your mental health, where – as the expert in your own life, even if you don’t feel like it – you choose what you want to explore in our sessions. I will be alongside you to work out what is holding you back. Through this exploration, you will gain a greater self awareness, and learn ways to move forward.
As well as general counselling, I have a particular interest in supporting clients through bereavements, and have volunteered at a hospice supporting loved ones of patients with terminal illness, before and after their passing.
I’m also interested in helping clients from different cultural backgrounds, and have assisted people to explore what their racial identity means to them and other experiences related to this.
Additionally, I have volunteered at an LGBTQ+ service, working with clients during and after transitioning, and exploring their experience of sexuality.
Outside of my private practice, I work in a group treatment service for people with personality disorders, and help clients process trauma and learn how to build healthy relationships.
I strive to provide a space where all parts of you feel heard, valued and understood. It may feel daunting delving into your distress, but together we will work to build a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship so you feel safe and secure enough to face these challenges.

MSc - Child and Adolescent Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. PGDip Interpersonal Psychology and Organisational Dynamics. MBACP.
I specialise in supporting young people who have experienced parental addiction or domestic abuse, prividing a safe space to process these difficult experiences. I also specialise in helping young people navigate exam stress and school anxiety, offering support to build confidence, manage pressure, and develop coping strategies.
I offer a personalised and compassionate approach to mental health, working with young people aged 8 to 25 to help them navigate their challenges and support their personal growth. Each session is tailored to your unique needs, with the goal of building your strengths and helping you develop effective coping strategies in a supportive and collaborative way.
In our first session, my priority is to offer a safe and non-judgemental space where you can share what’s on your mind, and together we’ll explore your goals for the therapy. My aim is to ensure you leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and confident about the journey ahead.
In addition to working with young people, I also offer support for parents and carers. I recognise the vital role parents play in their children’s development, and I work with them to explore their concerns about their child and family. This space also allows parents to reflect on their own experiences of parenting and being parented.
I have worked in schools, charities and the NHS throughout the country. I have developed and facilitated trauma workshops for child survivors or events such as the Grenfell fire, offering support to those who have faced profound adversity. My approach is grounded in empathy and understanding, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
I can support with a wide range of issues including:
FdSc. MBACP.
First session offered at a rediced fee of £20.00.
Lower cost sessions may sometimes be available according to ability to pay.
Anxiety, depression, assertiveness, self-esteem, anger, loss, suicidal thoughts, relationship difficulties.
Welcome. I’m an experienced counsellor who is curious, warm, thoughtful and open to hear what’s going on for you. Together we can share the work of clarifying what’s troubling you right now, how it’s affecting your ability to live your life and what options you have for moving forward.
I believe that by offering you my full attention each time we meet and listening with great care to what you say (and sometimes don’t say) I can offer helpful feedback. As you become more relaxed and feel able to explore things at your own pace, together we can unravel tangled thoughts and feelings and help you to feel more comfortable in your own skin.
My belief is that most of us know deep down, most of the time, what we need and how to go about getting those needs met. The hard part comes when our needs are at odds with the needs, wants or expectations of others – and that can be family, friends, partners, work colleagues, neighbours or wider society. Dealing alone with the stress of making decisions and changes that will impact on you and others can lead to anxiety, anger, depression and even suicidal thoughts. You might find yourself turning to alcohol, drugs, over or under-eating, gambling or other behaviours that don’t really help in the long term.
I trained as a counsellor after first being a client myself and finding it a very helpful and supportive experience. If you’ve never had counselling before I do understand it can take courage to take that first step to make contact. Be assured I am here to help, not judge.

A warm welcome, my name is Lena (her/she) and I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I remember when I was looking for a therapist, how daunting it felt at times with the thought of opening up to someone I have not previously met. I firmly believe that it is the relationship that you and I create together that has the potential to heal, and that you are the expert. You might be struggling with challenges such as relationships, work commitments or feeling overwhelmed. During such times, it can be invaluable to have someone alongside you. I offer you warmth, compassion and a trusting space where, at your own pace, we can together explore the issues you bring to the sessions.
I have a background in massage and aromatherapy which has helped me to develop a deep understanding and insight into the mind and body connection and how one is influenced and informed by the other. I have extensive experience working in the mental health sector, within the NHS, and in addition to seeing clients at the Wilbury Clinic, I volunteer as a therapist for Macmillan Cancer Support.
I am influenced by the Swiss Psychotherapist Carl Jung, and if it is relevant and appeals to you, I combine some of his concepts in order to facilitate your journey of self-discovery. My background is in Psychological Astrology and Tarot. I am a fully qualified Astrologer and received my training at the Centre for Psychological Astrology with the Jungian analyst, Liz Greene, and at the Faculty of Astrological Studies, London.
If you wish to combine Astrology in your Counselling session, we will explore your issues in depth and reflect where you are in your life cycle. Tarot cards are rich in symbolism, and they can be of great assistance and guidance when searching for meaning. I use this symbolic system as therapeutic tools, and work with some of Jung’s concepts such as the Shadow, and the Anima and Animus.
I have been working with this symbolic system for more than 30 years, giving sessions, teaching and running workshops in various colleges and community centres in the UK, Australia and Sweden. I am passionate about my work and have found enormous benefits from incorporating these symbolic tools in my everyday life. I mainly work face to face, but I am happy to meet online or over the telephone if this is more convenient for you. I work with clients on a short- or long-term basis.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and of The British Psychological Society (BPS).

I am an Integrative creative psychotherapist who works with children and adolescents (from the ages of four to eighteen years old) and their families in Sussex. In the last five years, I have worked therapeutically in educational, charity, NHS settings and the private sector. Currently, I am working as a Children and Adolescent Therapist for Lifecentre, a charity supporting survivors of unwanted sexual experiences, as a Children and Young Person’s Wellbeing Counsellor for Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service, and as a Pre-Prep Counsellor in an Independent private and boarding school in Sussex.
I work with children and adolescents presenting with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, neurodivergence – AUDHD, autism, ADHD, bereavement, depression, domestic abuse, divorce, identity, low mood, self-esteem, self-harm, suicidal ideation and unwanted sexual experiences. I also support children and young people with reporting unwanted sexual experiences, and I have pre-trial therapy training.
My integrative training enables me to access a broad range of theories and techniques. I think developmentally about the children and young people through an attachment, psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, neurobiological, and systemic lens. I have lived experience of being neurodivergent (AUDHD) and a mother of two of two neurodivergent sons (autism), I have in-depth understanding of the challenges of living in a neurodivergent family in a neurotypical world.
At the heart of my work has always been to listen, support, and offer guidance for the whole family with the child or young person being at the centre. I have a great interest and passion for children and young people’s wellbeing which led me from my teaching career into studying counselling and psychotherapy. My friendly, creative, and calm approach creates a compassionate, non-judgemental, confidential, safe, and empathic space to enable children and young people, time to explore their thoughts and feelings. I offer a blend of play, arts, music, and talking in the counselling sessions. The foundation of my practice is creating a trusting therapeutic relationship which enables a growth in awareness of challenges, worries and concerns whilst building and identifying their own unique strengths, talents, and goals.
At the heart of therapy lies the therapeutic relationship hence finding the right fit is important. Therefore, I offer a free initial consultation phone call with parent or carer and a free introductory session for the child or adolescent.
