I provide supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists, both on a 1-2-1 basis and in groups. I am happy to meet with supervisees weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on your caseload and accreditation needs.
I have worked in higher education for 30 years and currently teach on the post-graduate counselling and psychotherapy courses at The University of Brighton. This, in addition to my training and experience in coaching, equips me to offer mentorship for your therapy work.
Whilst my main mode of practice is as a Gestalt psychotherapist, I am also an experienced practitioner and teacher across the Humanistic paradigm. I can therefore offer supervision across Gestalt, Person-Centred and Transactional Analysis approaches.
Other specialist areas in my supervision include:
Robin Shohet, writer and trainer in therapeutic supervision, expresses a wish with which I deeply resonate – to help other’s flourish in their work. I am also influenced by Gaie Houston’s approach to supervision, especially how she considers three aspects to supervision, namely Policing, Plumbing and Poetry.
I completed my Supervisor training at Re-Vision in London. I have a Certificate in Supervision and am working towards my diploma. I am an experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Buddhist practitioner. Where appropriate, I may include meditation and mindfulness practices in sessions.
I work with a broad range of therapists from different modalities and believe that diversity in trainings creates a breadth of experience that can positively challenge and support.
I work relationally with supervision clients and offer a soulful, safe and supportive space to explore with openness and curiosity. I empower my clients to grow into their roles as therapists. I enjoy working with trainees and established therapists.
As well as offering my private practice at The Wilbury Clinic, I work for a respected and innovative London-based charity that uses a community-based and trauma informed approach to address the life-threatening effects of childhood adversity in people of all ages.
I practice within the BACP Ethical Framework and am committed to providing supervision in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
A warm welcome to you.
Supervision is a collaborative space that helps to hold you in your work. As a practicing therapist myself, I know how important it is to find a supervisor who feels like a "good fit." For me, supervision is a collaborative and respectful space where your work, your processes and your selfhood is all deeply welcomed.
My intention is to offer a grounded, compassionate relationship where you can explore both the challenges and the successes in your work. I aim to honour your clinical approach, your emotional self, and your personal values. Together, we can reflect on your client work, attend to any stuck places or uncertainties that arise, and celebrate your growth. I welcome all of you - the professional and the human being.
I bring a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens to my work, and I understand supervision to be both a place of support and of accountability. I’m interested in the ways that identity, power, and systems shape our work and our wellbeing, and I hold curiosity about how this shows up in both your therapeutic relationships and in our supervisory space.
I personally practice integratively, predominantly drawing on Gestalt, Existentialism, Phenomenology and Relational Psychoanalysis. At the centre of all my work is the therapeutic alliance and relationship. I am also curious about transpersonal elements, and intentionally invite diverse perspectives and creativity into the supervisory space.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Like anything else supervision can become habitual and lose the creative edge. I wish to provide a safe, inspiring, creative, yet challenging and professional space for you to explore your therapy wok. Supervision is designed to keep the creative juices flowing. So, I offer an environment where we can both be honest and keep this a valuable, nurturing, robust environment for reflective and reflexive practice.
Supervision exists for numerous reasons, some being:
I am a Gestalt Psychotherapist, Supervisor, Counsellor, Trainer and Group Facilitator and have been running my private practice for 25 years. I managed a local charity for 12 years, specialising in Dependency and Addiction. Alongside this, I held the position of Senior Lecturer on the BA in Humanistic Counselling at University of Chichester. I have been teaching, delivering and designing workshops since 1997.
