Hello, I’m Liz and I am a relational psychotherapeutic counsellor and trainer.
Where shall we start? You may have a clear idea about what you want from counselling or psychotherapy but it’s OK to not quite know at this point. Your relationship may be in crisis, you may be feeling stuck, want deeper self-acceptance or to really look at what’s holding you back in your life. There are many reasons people seek a therapeutic relationship and we can explore yours.
We live in challenging times. There is the global impact of war and climate change as well as systemic inequalities within our society that keep people alienated and struggling to live with hope, autonomy and creativity.
When you are in a safe, collaborative relationship, you can examine some of the most difficult (and wonderful) aspects of who you are, how you have relationships and how you experience yourself in the world. This can be both challenging and empowering and from this place of being deeply known, we can change, expand and become more of our true selves.
Research shows us that whichever modality you work with, the quality of the relationship with the therapist is key to effective therapeutic results and overall therapy satisfaction. If you would like to come and meet me informally for a 20-30 minute chat at no charge, please get in touch.
I am dedicated to working with cultural competency and I offer an affirmative space to gender, sexuality and relationship diverse people.
My training is in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy and my background is in social work where I have more than 25 years experience of working with and advocating for adults in mental health and adult social care systems.
